Matheus Pagani, founder and CEO of Venture Miner, led the bootcamp with a simple yet profound exercise. He challenged attendees to describe a Brazilian person, first using only text and then adding visual elements. The results were eye-opening, illustrating how AI models can fall prey to stereotypes and biases when trained on limited data.

The real magic happens when you combine AI’s capabilities with the decentralized infrastructure of Web3. Companies like Coinbase are leading the charge with innovative tools like AgentKit, a framework that allows developers to create AI agents with their own crypto wallets. These autonomous agents can then interact with blockchain networks, opening up a world of possibilities.
Imagine a fleet of AI taxis that own themselves, accept payments in cryptocurrency, and use those funds to pay for their own repairs and upgrades. Or picture a decentralized network of AI models, each with its own unique specialty, that can be called upon to solve complex problems in real-time. The only limit is our imagination.
One day, we’ll have AI agents own their own cars and operate their own taxi service that gets paid by customers in crypto and then uses that crypto to purchase repairs.

As Alec James from Ora Network put it during the bootcamp, “It’s kind of winner-takes-all right now in AI, but with this model, we’re allowing the crowdfunding of AI building and training, so people can have a share of the models, which is empowering if we think these models will run society in a decade.”

Over the course of the bootcamp, nine teams presented working prototypes that seamlessly blended Web3 and AI. From gift recommendation engines to meme coin generators with viral potential, the breadth and creativity of the projects were astounding. Most impressive was the fact that many participants had little to no prior experience with either technology.
For Jackie Joya, who flew in from San Francisco to attend, the event was an eye-opening experience. “As someone new to engineering, I was amazed by how much a novice like myself could build with the tools available,” she shared. “The bootcamp has inspired me to keep learning and creating.”
Isayah Culbertson, an engineer who has worked on both crypto and AI projects separately, saw immense potential in combining the two. “I see the combination accelerating the research and development of so many different fields, while also allowing for a more equitable distribution of wealth generated from that R&D,” he reflected.
