The Toronto Raptors have finalized their roster for the 2024-25 season with a mix of new faces and familiar names. The most notable move saw undrafted rookie forward Jamison Battle earn a two-way contract after impressing in the preseason.
According to sources close to the team, the Raptors converted Battle’s Exhibition 10 deal to a two-way contract on Saturday. The 23-year-old Ohio State product showcased his potential in five preseason games, averaging 6.4 points in just 9.8 minutes per contest while shooting a scorching 54.5% from the field and 57.1% from three-point range.
Battle’s strong showing caught the eye of Toronto’s coaching staff and front office. With starting wings RJ Barrett and Bruce Brown currently nursing injuries, the 6’7″ rookie could provide valuable depth in the early part of the season.
Jamison came in and competed from day one. He earned this opportunity with his work ethic, versatility, and ability to knock down shots. We’re excited to see him continue to develop with the Raptors and our G League affiliate.

Raptors Waive Trio to Meet Roster Limit
To finalize their regular season roster, Toronto had to make some difficult decisions before the league’s cutdown deadline. The Raptors waived guards Jahmi’us Ramsey and Jared Rhoden along with center Branden Carlson.
Ramsey, 23, appeared in seven games for the Raptors last season, averaging 6.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists. The 2020 second-round pick has played for the Raptors and Kings over parts of three NBA seasons.
Rhoden, 25, spent the last two years with the Detroit Pistons, seeing action in 31 games while averaging 4.1 points and 2.3 rebounds. Carlson was an undrafted rookie out of Utah who signed a two-way deal with Toronto after the draft.
All three players were on Exhibition 10 contracts, which are one-year, non-guaranteed minimum deals that can include an optional bonus. The Raptors roster now stands at the maximum of 15 players on standard contracts plus two two-way slots.
A New Era Begins in Toronto
The 2024-25 campaign marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Raptors. With Battle earning a roster spot and last year’s Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes poised for an expanded role, Toronto’s exciting young core offers plenty of reasons for optimism.
Under head coach Rikki Dunn, the Raptors will look to improve on last season’s play-in tournament appearance and reestablish themselves as contenders in the Eastern Conference. The development of young talents like Battle, Barnes, Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn could determine just how high this team can rise.
The journey begins on Wednesday as the Raptors host the Cleveland Cavaliers in their season opener. With a roster full of potential and a passionate fan base behind them, Toronto is ready to prove that the future is bright north of the border.
