Down 10-0 in dreary London town, the Jacksonville Jaguars were desperate for a spark. Little did they know, their rookie revelation was about to set the UK ablaze with his highlight reel heroics.
Brian “BTD” Thomas Jr.: The Rookie Rises
Facing a stingy Patriots defense, Trevor Lawrence and the Jags offense were stuck in the mud early. That’s when 4th round draft gem Brian Thomas Jr. decided to take over.
Cleverly disguising himself in a bunch formation with Evan Engram and Christian Kirk, BTD slipped underneath the coverage, snagged a laser from Lawrence, and strutted untouched into the end zone. Touchdown, Jaguars.
“He should go by BTD fr!” the Jaguars’ official Twitter proclaimed, anointing their new playmaking prince.

But Thomas was just getting warmed up. Later in the quarter, he skied over helpless Patriots for a 58-yard contested catch, setting up a Tank Bigsby touchdown plunge to seize a 14-10 lead.
More Than a Deep Threat
While his big play flair stole the show, BTD also proved his versatility and toughness throughout the day:
- 6 receptions on 8 targets
- 97 yards (team-high)
- Crucial moves-the-chains catches
- Key downfield blocks in the run game
According to a source close to the team, the Jaguars believe they have a true WR1 on their hands. “Brian can do it all,” the source gushed. “This is just the beginning for him and Trevor.”
The Rook Leads a Comeback for the Ages
Fueled by Thomas’ electric performance, Jacksonville roared back for 20 unanswered points, stunning the Patriots 20-10. The franchise’s first win in London was one to remember.
“Unbelievable. To come here and get a win like that, in front of these amazing fans, it’s a blessing. I’m so proud of this team and what we showed today.”

If BTD keeps soaring, these Jaguars might just make some noise in the wide open AFC South. Who knows, the next flight across the pond could be for a game in February. In the meantime, Jacksonville has found its newest sensation in Brian “BTD” Thomas Jr.
