Inter Miami CF have secured an exciting loan signing to kick off their 2025 season preparations. The club announced on Tuesday that they have acquired Argentine winger Tadeo Allende from La Liga side Celta Vigo on a one-year loan through the end of the MLS campaign.
The 25-year-old attacker is set to join Los Herons pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate. Allende’s arrival marks another key reinforcement for new manager Javier Mascherano as he looks to construct a competitive roster capable of challenging on multiple fronts.
Versatile Weapon
Inter Miami CF president of football operations Raúl Sanllehí expressed his delight at securing Allende’s services:
We’re pleased to bring in attacker Tadeo Allende to further strengthen our attack. Tadeo’s versatility bolsters our options up front as he can perform in different positions across the pitch. We’re excited to bring him on board to help us compete in multiple competitions in 2025.
Allende’s ability to operate in various attacking roles makes him a valuable weapon in Mascherano’s arsenal. Whether deployed as a winger, second striker, or even as a false nine, the Argentine’s dynamism and technical quality can cause problems for opposing defenses.
Attacking Pedigree
The Celta Vigo loanee joins Inter Miami with an impressive attacking record at his previous clubs:
- Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba (2021): 5 goals, 3 assists in 28 appearances
- Club Deportivo Godoy Cruz (2022 loan): 8 goals, 2 assists in 36 appearances
- Club Deportivo Godoy Cruz (2022-2023): 5 goals, 2 assists in 40 appearances
- Celta Vigo (Jan 2024-present): 3 goals in 13 appearances
In total, Allende has racked up 18 goals and 7 assists in 117 professional appearances to date. His eye for goal and ability to create chances for teammates make him an exciting addition to Inter Miami’s attack.
Ambitious Project
For his part, Allende expressed his eagerness to get started in South Florida:
I’m honored to have the opportunity to join Inter Miami for an exciting new chapter in my career. I’m happy to be here in South Florida and I’m ready to give it my all to help the club achieve its objectives this upcoming season.
– Tadeo Allende
With Inter Miami set to participate in the Concacaf Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in 2025 alongside their regular MLS season, Allende will have ample opportunity to showcase his talents on some big stages.
Mascherano’s Vision
Manager Javier Mascherano outlined the type of player and personality he is looking to recruit as he constructs his Inter Miami squad:
I would tell you [we’re looking for] the type of players, a competitive player, a player who has the ambition to come here to win things, who really wants to come because, well, we know that beyond the fact that we have players who can attract many other players. Then the responsibility has to be carried on your shoulders and that is not for everyone.
Mascherano emphasized that he is seeking “players with a mentality, with personality and obviously with hierarchy” to handle the pressure and expectations at a club of Inter Miami’s stature and ambition.
Preseason Plans
Allende and his new Inter Miami teammates will kick off their 2025 preseason preparations with a friendly against Liga MX giants Club America on January 18th in Las Vegas.
The Herons will then embark on a tour across South and Central America to further gear up for the upcoming campaign, with more signings expected to arrive before their Concacaf Champions Cup debut against Sporting Kansas City on February 18th.
As one of the most ambitious projects in MLS, Inter Miami are looking to make a splash in 2025. The loan acquisition of a talented attacker like Tadeo Allende represents another step towards building a squad capable of meeting the club’s lofty goals and competing for silverware on multiple fronts.
