Clayton Kershaw Vows to Crush Rehab After Surgeries

In a resolute Instagram post, Los Angeles Dodgers’ star pitcher Clayton Kershaw pledged to “crush” his rehabilitation after undergoing foot and knee surgeries on Thursday. The three-time NL Cy Young Award winner and 2014 NL MVP is determined to make a strong comeback for his 18th season in 2025.

A Season Cut Short

Kershaw’s 2024 season was marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven games following left shoulder surgery in the offseason. After making his season debut on July 25, he managed to pitch 30 innings before a ruptured plantar plate and arthritis in his left foot sidelined him once again.

The future Hall of Famer’s absence was felt deeply by the Dodgers, who missed his leadership and dominant presence on the mound during the postseason.

Surgical Intervention

To address his injuries, Kershaw underwent two separate surgeries on Thursday. Dr. Kenneth Jung performed the procedure on his left foot, while renowned surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache repaired the meniscus in his left knee.

The Road to Recovery

With his surgeries complete, Kershaw now faces the arduous task of rehabilitation. However, the lefty’s determination and work ethic are well-known throughout the baseball world, and he appears ready to tackle this challenge head-on.

Fans and teammates alike are eager to see Kershaw back on the mound, dominating batters with his signature curveball and competitive spirit. The Dodgers organization is hopeful that their ace will make a full recovery and return to his previous form.

A Dodger for Life

Despite entering free agency this offseason, Kershaw has made it clear that he intends to remain with the Dodgers, proclaiming himself a “Dodger for life” during the team’s World Series championship parade. The club is expected to negotiate an incentive-based deal with their longtime star, ensuring he remains in Dodger blue for the foreseeable future.

As Kershaw embarks on his rehabilitation journey, the baseball world will be watching closely, eagerly anticipating the return of one of the game’s greatest pitchers. With his sights set on the 2025 season, the Dodgers’ ace is poised to prove once again why he is a living legend.
