Aston Villa Dominate Spurs 2-0 in FA Cup Clash

Aston Villa put on a commanding performance to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in their FA Cup fourth round clash at Villa Park. Goals from Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers sealed the victory for Unai Emery’s side as they outclassed a struggling Spurs team.

Villa came out of the gates firing and took the lead after just two minutes. The electric Rogers burst past Lucas Bergvall before cutting the ball back for Ramsey to drill home. Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky got a hand to the shot but couldn’t keep it out.

Villa Dominate First Half

The hosts controlled the entirety of the first 45 minutes, carving Spurs open repeatedly. Rogers ran the show, exploiting the space behind Spurs’ front line at will. Villa peppered Kinsky’s goal but had to settle for a 1-0 lead at the break.

“We’re fucking shit.”

– Tottenham fans chant sarcastically as Villa run rampant

The bewildered away support resorted to gallows humor, chanting “We’re fucking shit” and “How shit must you be, it’s only 1-0” as their team struggled to live with Villa’s intensity.

Spurs Improve But Villa Seal It

To their credit, Spurs stabilized after half-time and began to threaten. Son Heung-min missed a golden chance when put clean through and Ezri Konsa pulled up with an injury trying to chase him down.

But Villa weathered the mini storm and doubled their lead on 66 minutes. Rogers was again the architect, playing a neat one-two with Leon Bailey before crossing for Ramsey. Kevin Danso fluffed his lines but Rogers was on hand to lash home the loose ball.

Late substitute Mathys Tel grabbed a consolation for Spurs in stoppage time but it was too little, too late. The damage had been done as Aston Villa marched on to the fifth round in style.
