Love is in the air for NBA star Kyle Kuzma and his supermodel sweetheart Winnie Harlow. The Milwaukee Bucks forward recently surprised his longtime girlfriend with a dreamy destination proposal, complete with all the romantic trimmings.
A Proposal Fit for a Queen
Kuzma, 29, went all out to create the perfect ambiance for popping the question to Harlow, 28. The basketball player whisked his love away on a private jet to the idyllic shores of Turks and Caicos, setting the stage for an unforgettable moment.
Inside the jet, Kuzma had arranged for a romantic display of balloons, roses, chocolates and champagne to greet Harlow. As they arrived at their island villa, the couple was met by both of their families, flown out to witness the special occasion.
Heartfelt Poem and Custom Ring
In a touching gesture, Kuzma began his proposal by reading a heartfelt poem he had written for Harlow. The poem concluded with the momentous question: “Will you be my wife?” A beaming Harlow happily accepted, as Kuzma slipped a stunning ring on her finger.
The 8.5-carat oval-cut diamond engagement ring was a true labor of love, with Kuzma spending three months meticulously designing the perfect sparkler for his bride-to-be. He told Vogue:
“I just wanted to draw a picture of what I felt resembled her — something that was elegant, but very timeless and simplistic at the same time.”
From Toronto to Turks and Caicos
The scenic Turks and Caicos held special meaning for the couple, who first vacationed on the archipelago in 2022. Kuzma began planning the elaborate proposal six months ago, wanting to create a memorable experience in a place close to their hearts.
Kuzma and Harlow, a former America’s Next Top Model contestant from Toronto, first got together in April 2020. Throughout their relationship, they’ve shared snippets of their love story on social media, much to the delight of their millions of followers.
From Washington to Wisconsin
On the basketball front, Kuzma is embarking on a new chapter with the Milwaukee Bucks after being traded from the Washington Wizards earlier this month. The 6-foot-9 forward, who won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, is averaging 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season.
As Kuzma and Harlow bask in their newly engaged glow, fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with congratulations for the photogenic pair.
