MLS Jersey Rankings 2025: Top Kits Unveiled for New Season

The 2025 MLS season has arrived, and with it, a dazzling array of new jerseys to critique and covet. All 30 clubs have unveiled fresh kits, each eager to make a statement on and off the pitch. But which designs rise above the rest? We’ve analyzed every stitch and stripe to bring you the definitive 2025 MLS Jersey Power Rankings.

Top of the Table: Seattle Sounders Stun Again

Topping our list for the second straight year are the Seattle Sounders, who have somehow managed to outdo themselves. The Rave Green have unveiled a breathtaking secondary kit in deep, never-before-seen blue, inspired by the Puget Sound and featuring a mesmerizing pattern derived from local Salish weaving traditions. With a minimalist, monochromatic crest to boot, this one is an instant classic.

Between this kit and last season’s sublime standard, the 2025 Sounders may have the best set of jerseys in MLS history.

Portland Pushes 50

Not to be outdone by their Cascadia rivals, the Portland Timbers are celebrating five decades of soccer in serious style. The trademark green and gold has never looked bolder, with concentric rings encircling the crest in an elegant nod to the Portland tree. Even the Tillamook logo feels right at home. A birthday beauty, through and through.

Hollywood Sunrise: Galaxy’s Purple Reign

After years of hit-or-miss away kits, the LA Galaxy have struck gold—or rather, purple—with their 2025 secondary jersey. Evoking a SoCal sunrise with an ombré effect that fades from deep violet to pink, accented with shimmering gold, it’s a head-turner that somehow still feels quintessentially Galaxy. Dare we say, fit for a Hollywood king?

Inter Miami’s Messi-Inspired Cash Cow

While not winning many points for creativity, Inter Miami’s twin 2025 kits are a masterclass in capitalizing on their star man. The home shirt leans hard into a certain Argentine’s Barça history with blaugrana-esque stripes, while the sleek black secondary screams Messi minimalism. With Leo’s name and number on the back, these are poised to shatter sales records, even if the design leaves a little to be desired.

RSL’s Czech-erboard Surprise

In a league often criticized for playing it safe, Real Salt Lake swung for the fences with a blue and white checker design unlike anything MLS has seen before. It’s bold, it’s bizarre, and it somehow works. The hints of claret and cobalt keep it tethered to the RSL brand, but this is a look that will be remembered (and debated) for years to come. Risky? Yes. Refreshing? Absolutely.

Colorado’s All-In Rebrand

The Colorado Rapids made waves by fully embracing their home state, replacing their crest with a stylized “C” in the shape of the Colorado flag—complete with a subtle soccer ball in the center circle. The accompanying kit evokes the Centennial State’s snow-capped peaks and evergreen forests, with just enough restraint to avoid veering into gaudy territory. When you’re this devoted to local flavor, you’re bound to turn some heads.

Slimed in Columbus

In an unexpected twist, Columbus Crew tapped into hometown hero R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps legacy for a spooky kit that reveals slimy, glow-in-the-dark graphics under blacklight. Kitschy? Absolutely. On-brand for the Goosebumps guy’s city? You bet. The gimmick alone lands this one in our top 20, but let’s hope Crew fans aren’t too scarred by the end of spooky season.

Voltage and Confusion in Philly, New England

The Philadelphia Union almost struck gold with their “Voltage” kit’s lightning bolt motif, but left us scratching our heads by referencing infamous Philly no-show Nikola Tesla. Meanwhile, the Revolution were foiled by Adidas’ template tardiness, as their best-laid jersey plans were undone by the last-minute release of a half-baked design.

Cellar Dwellers: The Worst Kits of 2025

  • San Diego’s “Did you even try?” – On and off the field, MLS’s newest club gets a brutal welcome to the league.
  • Orange Overload in Cincy – There is such a thing as too much orange. We found it in the Queen City.
  • Quakes’ Chaotic Mess – A little bit of everything adds up to a whole lot of yikes in San Jose.

With the good, the bad, and the ugly all accounted for, that wraps up our definitive 2025 MLS Jersey Power Rankings. This year brought us soaring designs and fashion flops, new crests and fresh colors, and more than a few head-scratchers. But one thing is certain: whether you’re sitting pretty in purple and gold or languishing in last year’s laundry, every new season—and jersey—brings a chance to redefine the beautiful game, one stitch at a time.
