The Indiana Fever’s remarkable renaissance, ignited by the arrivals of generational talents Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston in successive WNBA Drafts, has ushered in an exciting new era for the storied franchise. Now, the Fever are taking another significant step forward with the announcement of a brand-new, state-of-the-art training facility slated to open in downtown Indianapolis in August 2025.
A $78 Million Investment in the Fever’s Future
The $78 million complex, a joint venture between the Fever’s ownership group and the city of Indianapolis, reflects a growing trend among WNBA organizations to provide their players with dedicated, cutting-edge practice facilities. These training centers are designed not only to optimize team performance but also to attract marquee free agents and retain top talent.
As Fever president Kelly Krauskopf explained, “This elite training center is a reflection of our organization’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that our players have the highest level of resources to be successful. As we look to the future, the focus of creating a first-class player experience designed exclusively for women athletes will set us apart.”
A Transformative Offseason for the Fever
The practice facility announcement caps off a transformative offseason for the Fever, who have undergone a comprehensive organizational restructuring. In addition to Krauskopf’s return to the helm of the franchise after a stint as assistant GM for the Indiana Pacers, the Fever also brought in Stephanie White as head coach and Amber Cox as general manager.
This revamped leadership group will be tasked with building upon the Fever’s breakout 2024 campaign, which saw the team return to the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016, fueled by the electrifying play of Clark and Boston. The dynamic duo, both reigning WNBA Rookies of the Year, have quickly become two of the league’s most marketable stars, regularly packing arenas both at home and on the road.
World-Class Amenities and More
The Fever’s new 108,000-square-foot training complex, connected to Gainbridge Fieldhouse via skybridge, will boast an array of world-class amenities designed to provide players with an unparalleled training experience:
- Two regulation-size courts with natural light
- State-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment
- Full-service kitchen and nutrition center
- Hydrotherapy pools and recovery areas
- Hair and nail salon, childcare space
- Podcast studio and content creation facilities
As Pacers and Fever owner Herb Simon noted, “We are excited to partner with Indianapolis mayor Joe Hogsett to identify the perfect location. The city of Indianapolis continues to be a tremendous partner as we elevate our team, players and community.”
Last year, we experienced an unprecedented boom in interest and attention on women’s sports around the world, led in large part by our very own Indiana Fever.
Indianapolis is proud to see this significant investment from Pacers Sports & Entertainment drive further momentum in women’s basketball in our community and continue to elevate our status as a major league sports.

Fever Poised to Host First-Ever WNBA All-Star Game
The practice facility unveiling comes on the heels of another major milestone for the Fever: Indianapolis has been selected to host the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, the first time the event will be held in the Hoosier State. The star-studded weekend is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the city, while also showcasing the explosive growth of women’s basketball on a global stage.
As the Fever continue their ascent, buoyed by transcendent young stars and a commitment to providing them with world-class resources, the future of the franchise has never looked brighter. With a new training home on the horizon and the basketball world descending on Indianapolis for All-Star festivities, the stage is set for the Indiana Fever to emerge as a powerhouse in the WNBA for years to come.
