Greenland Locals Paid to Attend Donald Trump Jr Lunch Event

A surprising twist has emerged in the aftermath of Donald Trump Jr’s recent visit to Greenland’s capital city of Nuuk. According to Jørgen Bay-Kastrup, the CEO of Hotel Hans Egede where Trump Jr hosted a lunch event, many of the attendees sporting “Make America Great Again” hats were not diehard Trump supporters, but rather local homeless individuals enticed by the prospect of a free meal.

Guests Unaware of Trump Jr’s Identity

Bay-Kastrup revealed that the MAGA hat-wearing guests at Trump Jr’s table were unfamiliar faces, most likely rounded up from the streets by the President-Elect’s staff. “I don’t think they knew who they were inviting,” the hotel executive stated, adding that these individuals were unlikely to ever set foot in the upscale establishment again due to their economic circumstances.

That of course was a little bit strange to us because we saw guests that we have never seen in our hotel before – and will probably never see again because it’s out of their economical means.

The roughly 15 guests, treated to a traditional Greenlandic lunch of fish and caribou, appeared to be unaware of their host’s identity. “They were just, ‘Hey, somebody invited us for lunch, let’s go and join him’,” Bay-Kastrup recounted. “I think they found out later who it was.”

Trump Jr Spokesperson Denies Claims

In response to these allegations, a spokesperson for Donald Trump Jr vehemently denied the claims, dismissing them as “beyond the pale ridiculous.” The visit had come on the heels of President-Elect Trump’s declaration that it was an “absolute necessity” for the United States to take control of the semi-autonomous Danish territory.

Greenlanders Reject Trump’s Overtures

Greenlandic officials have repeatedly emphasized that the island is not for sale, despite the Trump administration’s overtures. Bay-Kastrup echoed this sentiment, stating, “We are not a trade, we are not something for sale. We would like to cooperate but we are not for sale.”

The hotel CEO also reported witnessing individuals in MAGA hats distributing $100 bills outside a nearby supermarket following Trump Jr’s visit, with one local father expressing shock that his young son had been handed cash by an unknown adult.

As the Trump administration prepares to assume office, this peculiar incident in Nuuk has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions about the unorthodox tactics potentially employed by the incoming President’s team. While the full scope of Trump’s Greenland ambitions remains to be seen, it is clear that the island’s residents are determined to maintain their autonomy.
