The leaves are changing colors and the stakes are rising – it’s Week 7 of the 2024 fantasy football season! As we approach the midpoint of the regular season, every matchup takes on added significance. Navigating injuries, bye weeks, and emerging sleepers is crucial to keeping your squad in the playoff hunt. To help you make those critical start/sit decisions, we’ve compiled our Week 7 PPR player rankings.
Week 7 Quarterback Rankings and Notes
The top of the QB rankings hold steady with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson leading the way. All three have mouthwatering matchups and are no-brainer starts. But there’s plenty of intrigue in the middle tiers:
- Trey Lance (vs ATL) has back-to-back strong outings and now gets a gorgeous matchup against a leaky Falcons defense. With his rushing upside, Lance is a rock-solid QB1.
- Despite a couple of rough games, we’re not bailing on Joe Burrow (at TEN). The ultra-talented Bengals offense is due for a get-right game, even in a tough road environment.
- If you’re desperate for a bye week or injury fill-in, Jimmy Garoppolo (vs ARI) and Geno Smith (at LAC) are passable streamers in good matchups. But keep expectations in check.
Week 7 Running Back PPR Rankings and Notes
Some quick-hit thoughts on the Week 7 RB landscape:
- Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley remain the elite PPR options. CMC has an unreal floor with his passing game role while Barkley is the focal point of the Giants offense.
- Is this the week Jonathan Taylor finally goes nuclear? The matchup vs TEN isn’t ideal but we’re betting on talent. You’re starting him if you roster him.
- After flopping as chalk last week, Rhamondre Stevenson (vs CHI) should bounce back against a Bears defense that hemorrhages production to RBs.
- David Montgomery (at NE) saw his snap share tick up to a season-high 72% last week while Khalil Herbert nurses a minor injury. Fire up Monty as a volume-based RB2.
Week 7 Wide Receiver PPR Rankings and Notes
Some key storylines in the Week 7 WR rankings:
- Monitor practice reports on Ja’Marr Chase (vs ATL) who popped up with a mid-week ankle injury. If he suits up against the Falcons’ burnable secondary, Chase is an easy WR1.
- CeeDee Lamb and Deebo Samuel are both on byes this week, leaving gaping holes in lineups. Look to plug in upside WR3/FLEX types like Chris Godwin (at CAR) or Brandin Cooks (at LV).
- The squeaky wheel narrative is in full effect for DJ Moore (vs TB) after he vented about his lack of targets. In a plus draw, Moore is a high-end WR2 with WR1 juice.
Week 7 Tight End PPR Rankings and Streamers
Once you get past Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews (both top-3 options), it’s a bit of a dart throw at tight end:
- Zach Ertz (vs NO) has seen 23 targets the past 2 weeks as Arizona’s passing game has perked up. He’s a mid-range TE1 you can trust.
- Coming off his bye, David Njoku (at BAL) should see more consistent looks with the Browns’ WR corps decimated by injury. He’s a priority streamer.
- It’s a revenge game narrative for Hayden Hurst (vs ATL) squaring off with his former team. Hurst has been surprisingly reliable and is a fine TE1 dart throw.
There you have it – the lay of the land for Week 7 from a PPR perspective. As always, be sure to monitor injury reports leading up to kickoff and don’t be afraid to take some calculated risks. Every lineup decision is magnified as we inch closer to the fantasy postseason. Trust your process, start your studs, and let’s secure those crucial Week 7 victories!
